Louis Vuitton Is Putting A Contemporary Spin On An Iconic Handbag

As the holiday season approaches, our calendars are swiftly filling up with festive gatherings and summer soirees. As a result, we're looking for a hardworking handbag that can take us from breakfast to the bar.

A contemporary shape, cult style status, and big interiors for transporting our social equipment are all must-haves (read: half of our belongings). And we've discovered the handbag that checks all of the boxes. The Twist is one of Louis Vuitton's most iconic and well-loved bags. While the legendary collection debuted during the 2015 Cruise runway show, it's been redesigned with new elements each season (while retaining the classic LV twist lock for which it's known). The new style will be introduced this year in a campaign headlined by model and skilled equestrian Eve Jobs. Eve Jobs, the youngest daughter of late Apple founder Steve Jobs, performs the Twist 'en plein air' with her ponies.

The photo series, which combines young enthusiasm with a rural sensibility, makes a case for the Twist's flexibility both on and off the track—and at every event this silly season. The Twist, known for its graphic, boxy design in Epi leather and characteristic logo clasp (a jewel-like element that pivots to produce the iconic "LV" when locked in position), became an instant classic the minute it arrived on the catwalk. So, what will be the next spin on the it-bag in 2022? Look no further than the new 'Gourmette' lock, which reinterprets the original monogram clasp in a four-part combination of colourful strass, enamel, Monogram engraving, and metal engraving.

Each version is accented with a faceted gold or silver chain that ties to a leather shoulder strap and comes in five colorways. Even better, the strap is both adjustable and removable, so you may wear it cross-body at a summer picnic, over your shoulder at a cocktail party, or as a stunning evening clutch by night. Eve Jobs, a rising model, is quickly becoming a household name in the fashion world. This isn't her first foray into the Louis Vuitton world; at Paris Fashion Week, the Apple heiress was spotted in the front row of the brand's Fall 2022 show.

Eve shows off the new Twist variants with strength and grace, dressed in pieces from the womenswear FW 2022 collection (with a Twist handbag never far from reach). This season, pink strass and black enamel accents shake up the traditional black design, while silver strass and light blue enamel offer a sleek fashion-forward touch to the Twist in pale quartz.

With its blue strass and white enamel LV lock, the vibrant blue iteration, on the other hand, evokes the feeling of a summer spent by the sea. Whether you keep it classic with the signature camel, black, and white versions, or add colour to your outfit with bold navy, the Twist is sure to be your go-to accessory at any event.
