Christina Ricci may open a secondhand shop. The 42-year-old actress revealed she sold her handbag collection to pay for her contentious divorce from James Heerdegen, whom she divorced in 2020. "I have certain things I have collected, certain bags." For a while, I had quite a Chanel handbag collection, but I sold a lot of things," Ricci told The Sunday Times.

"Well, certain traumas in life go along with financial traumas, extended court situations, custody situations, fighting restraining orders," she explained when asked what prompted her closet clean-out. "Having said that, I'm totally OK, there's no problem," she said. However, I learned to use these investment pieces in a variety of ways. I also had a Chanel Fine Jewelry collection that I used."

During their stormy divorce, Ricci and Heerdegen obtained restraining orders against one other, with hers granted and his refused, alleging domestic abuse. They have a custody arrangement in April 2021 for their 8-year-old son Frederick "Freddie" Heerdegen. They married in 2013. Ricci announced in August 2021 that she was expecting her second child, a daughter called Cleo, and married the baby's father, Mark Hampton, in October.

In terms of her current collection, Ricci stated that she prefers not to invest in fashion anymore, but Hampton has taken to eBay to source vintage magazine covers starring Ricci. "I think it's important to state that I don't consider myself a victim in any way. "I'm not sorry for myself," she clarified. "Everyone has personal issues, and this was mine, and it was about finding my own self-worth, position, strength, and power."
