Marsèll, a footwear label, is expanding into the handbag and leather goods categories. After testing the waters for the previous 20 years with little capsules and a few models constantly flanking the main shoe business, the company is presenting its first full-fledged line for spring 2023.
The brand established a creative team and increased its production capability by hiring more craftspeople. Cofounder and creative director Marco Cima described it as a “logical evolution founded on our know-how in leather production.”
“We have always intended to telegraph our aesthetics…and technique across many product categories, initiatives, and objects….We feel we are an alternative brand representing and pulling clients yearning for minimalist and no-logo designs,” Cima said.
The spring collection is centred on timeless styles with a minimalist bent, similar to the footwear category, and includes doctor bags and irregularly shaped pouches, as well as tiny tote bags with handles knotted to the bag’s body, all in a muted colour palette of earth tones and pastels.
The bags range in price from 700 to 2,000 euros.
