Dee Ocleppo, designer, wife of fashion pioneer Tommy Hilfiger, and creative director of Judith Leiber, believes this Christmas season buyers will ask Santa for Kris Jenner’s Kris Kringle-inspired purse ($4,995).
Ocleppo, who recently commissioned the Kardashian-Jenner sisters to design their own bedazzled bags inspired by their favourite things, tells Page Six Style that she and Kris had been talking about partnering “for a long.”
“For many, many years, the Kardashians have been admirers and collectors.” Kris has been collecting since the 1980s and has some really rare antique pieces,” she adds. “We wanted to do something festive for the holidays because they’re known for large Christmas gatherings and parties.”
While only Kris’ design is holiday-themed (Kim’s is shaped like an alien head, Khloé’s is shaped like a pot of gold, Kourtney’s is shaped like a tray of sushi, Kendall’s is shaped like her Doberman pup, and Kylie’s is shaped like a lightning bolt), Ocleppo says it’s “definitely” her “favourite” of the bunch.
“The bags are like art pieces that you can display and appreciate while not in use,” she adds of the costly handbags. “They always make everyone grin and are a great discussion starter!”
Ocleppo appears to love Kris’ style in more ways than one; when asked what she plans to offer her husband Tommy for Christmas, she said she’s purchasing him a customised Moke electric car, which starts at $22,975.
Kris gifted all six of her children to personalised Mokes in hues ranging from hot pink to baby blue for Christmas last year, after obtaining her own car from the brand in 2017.
