High-end consignment and re-commerce site Fashionphile shared its 2022 Ultra–Luxury Resale Report about consumers’ shopping behavior. Part of its report is the most searched luxury handbag brands by different age groups. Millennials surfed the web for Prada, while Gen Z Googled Balenciaga.
In the last year, Y2K style ruled dominant. And, based on recent runway shows and brand launches, it appears that our obsession with 2000s fashion will continue. If you need proof, high-end consignment and re-commerce firm Fashionphile just released its 2022 Ultra-Luxury Resale Report on customer buying habits. The top sought luxury handbag brands by age group are included in the survey.
Luxury Handbag Brands
According to their findings, Baby Boomers (aged 58-67) searched the internet for Louis Vuitton handbags. Gen X (42-57) satisfies their need for expensive arm candy by looking for Hermès. Prada was Googled by Millennials, whereas Balenciaga was Googled by Generation Z.
One of Fashionphile’s discoveries is how Prada reinforced today’s quest for early aughts goods with the brand’s rhinestone-encrusted reimagining of its 2000s nylon purse. Another thing it discovered is that male customers adore Hermès Birkin bags. Although it has always been a favourite of ladies, males are also getting in on the action when it comes to obtaining the much-coveted bag. According to the website’s research, “sales for bigger Birkin bags, like the HAC and the Birkin 40, have surged 35 percent” due to male customers.
Fashionphile predicted “all-you-can-fit giant bags, crescent-shaped shapes, geometric designs, and Y2K multicolor smashes” for next handbag trends. Consider the Fendigraphy hobo bag, the Quilted Chanel 22, the Multicolor Speedy, the Balenciaga Le Cagole shoulder bag, and the Prada Symbole tote, among others.
So, while you’re cleaning out your closet, remember to keep your present luxury purses. Who can say? Perhaps your most recent buy will be the must-have item in the coming years.
The majority of luxury bags and purses are handcrafted. In contrast to typical handbags, which are created in factories under poor conditions, they are made by highly regarded and valued artisans. If you want to be ethical and mindful with your bag purchases, luxury bags and handbags are the way to go.
