Candy-colored purses are popular right now. The striking piece may brighten any outfit and, as a result, raise your mood all at once. Longchamp’s Box-Tot is the latest bag to get a colourful makeover.

The handbag is a French girl’s wardrobe essential, with a sleek, boxy design, an adjustable strap, and subtle hardware. It’s now available in eye-catching pink, natural leather, canvas, and lemon yellow, inspired by the freedom and elegance of a glamping excursion.

Longchamp debuted the new colorways in a campaign in Seoul led by South Korean singer and actress Kim Se-jeong (whose fame has seen her gain more than nine million followers on Instagram). After receiving the Best Actor Award at the Asia Artist Awards in 2022, the 26-year-old is the new face of Longchamp.

“Longchamp is a real brand that allows me to express myself freely, elegantly, and with overflowing energy—like a Parisienne,” Se-jeong adds.

“I believe the Box-Trot is ideal for serving as the focal point of an ensemble. It has an effortless sophistication that goes with any style, and it comes in colours that really stand out and elevate an otherwise average appearance.”

The Box-updated Trot’s palette of pop-to-pastel colours is ideal for unfussy, bohemian outfits.

Wear the canvas bag cross-body with a long cotton dress to create an impression of lightness and mobility. Alternatively, mix the candy pink version worn by Se-jeong (above) with an all-white ensemble for a touch of Parisian refinement.

“I appreciate styles that stick to the basics, yet having a core element that sticks out. The overall style may appear simple, but I can change up my accessories every day by focusing on a new key feature. “Simple is best!” declares the star.

“My favourite ensembles still tend to be those that are comfy to walk around in when I’m going about my day,” Se-jeoung says of her off-duty style. I’m thinking wide-leg and cargo pants for bottoms, and big shirts, sweatshirts, or loose knitwear for tops.”

The Box-Trot is made of smooth calfskin and features Longchamp’s signature horse and rider pattern on the flap’s enormous, gold-tone metal emblem. The instantly recognisable emblem represents the creative energy and optimism at the heart of the French Maison, qualities shared by the new ambassador, Kim Se-jeong.

“I think people trust Longchamp and feel at ease with Longchamp, and I have the idea that’s how people feel about me as a person and as a performer,” she says.

The Box-Trot is the ideal travel companion for the actor, designed for the free-spirited Parisienne who spends life on the run. It’s also large enough to store her daily necessities, such as notepads.

“I believe that taking notes is an important habit to cultivate, and I enjoy writing things down. “I constantly carry numerous notepads, each for a different purpose – one for a diary, one for ideas, one for studying scripts and characters, and so on,” the actress explains.

And on the city of lights (and Longchamp’s Maison), Se-Jeong says that “Paris is somewhere that’s spectacular even on an ordinary day.

“However, my excitement in travelling stems not from the destination, culture, or sights, but from the people I’m with and our shared experiences.”

Longchamp’s Box-Trot, both timeless and futuristic, is the season’s It-bag for the French girl, in any colour.
